HIS MAJESTY’S

“The Adventures of Carol,” featuring little Madge Evans, in conjunction with “The Neglected Wife,” will bo screened to-nig'nt for the last time. On Monday evening the brilliant star actress, Ethel Barrymore, will be seen in a 5-act wonderplay, entitled “Life’s Whirlpool,” which was both written and directed by the star’s gifted brother Lionel Barrymore. EVERYBODY’S TO-NIGHT. A charming little child actress Zoe Ray, will be featured at Everybody’s to-night in a pleasing “Butterfly” feature, “The Circus of Life.” “The Circus of Life” will serve to introduce her to local film enthusiasts, in a capita story of the strange phantasmagoria of life with its many strange twists and turnings, whether lived amongst the rich or the poor. It is a fine story with no heroics, but plenty of human interest. Patrons are asked to note that this picture can be screened for to-night only. MUNICIPAL BAND CONCERT AT VIRGINIA LAKE. A final reminder is given of the band concert to e given to-morrow afternoon at Virginia Lake by the Quen Alexandra These concerts have proved themselves popular, and as (he band is playing up to their usual standard of efficiency, intending patrons can look forward to another musical treat. A commencement will be made at 3 p.m. sharp. The Rev. L. H. Blamires will continue his series of special addresses to-morrow evening, when the subject will he “Larger Hope of the, Life Beyond.” A solo will be rendered by Mrs Edmondson.

The Dublin Street Methodists are re-openmg their Band of Hope ou Wednesday evening next, Mav Ist. at 7 o’clock, when a Punch and Judy show, exhibited by Mr Ferry, will tie one of the attractions of the evening. Tne success that attended the last session has amply justified the carrying on again, and it is hoped that all those interested in the temperance cause will support this important work, in view of the fact that New Zealand's future is in the hands of the vonng people of to day.
