ORANGE BLOSSOMS.

CH BISTIE—WILSON. One of the prettiest weddings seen in Wanganui for some considerable time was solemnised in Christ Church this afternoon, when Mies Gladys Christie, the youngest daughter ot Mr and Mrs H. F. Christie, of “Awatird,’" St. John's Hill, was married to Captain Douglas Wilson, N.Z.M.C., son of Mr and Mrs Alexander Wilson, of Glasgow, Scotland. The Yen. Archdeacon Jieero performed the ceremony. The church wa« crowded and the public were present in large numbers. The bride looked charming in a most beautiful wedding gown of fine white lace, embroidered with silver, with a silver tissue sash. She wore an equiaite court train of ninon, lined with the most delicate shade of pink. This, too, was embroidered with silver, and was lent by the bride’s sister, Mrs (Dr.) Earle. A pretty veil trimmed with myrtle blossoms completed the pretty picture as she entered the church on the arm of her father. The bridesmaids were little Miss Betty Wilson, niece of the bridegroom, and Miss Joan Carey, niece of the bride. These two dainty little girls were dressed in white argandi muslin frocks, with tulle sashes, and little Dutch bonnets trimmed with blue ribbon and for-get-me-note. Two sweet little pages. Masters Neal Christ'e and Michael Grace, were also in attendance, and added to the charm of the surroundings. The church had been most beautifully decorated by the bride’s friends. Clusters of Michaelmas daisies made a most charming effect in the sacred edifice. The wedding-bell was very tasteful, and was made of dahlias, cosmos, phlos, roses, and Scotch heather, the native flower of the bridegroom. The tongue of this exquisite piece of work was made of orange blossoms. Lieutenant Eric Lees, R.Z.F.A., acted as best man. The gucets attended in large numbers, and were accommodated in the body of the church. Mrs Christie, mother of the bride, was gowned in a wine-coloured corded silk, trimmed with gold, and hat to match. Mrs Carey wore a gown of grey georgetti over pink, with black and white hat. Mrs Steadman was dressed in a plum-coloured cloth coat-frock, while Mrs Howard Christie looked becoming in a pretty cream lace frock and black hat. Mr# Wilson wore a pale blue crepe de cliene gown and black hat, and Mrs Maurice Earle was attired in black and white crepe de chine, with hat to match. After the ceremony the guests pro needed to Mr and Mrs Christie's beaut* ful residence on St, John’s Hill, whri? excellent arrangements had been made for their reception. The lovely grounds lent themselves admirably to the occasion. On the lawn at the side of the house a large marquee had been erected. Its decorations were charming and had been effected by numerous friends of the bride. Tastefully draped about were beautiful creepers and flowers, the wl*ole effect being pink and mauve with autumn leaves. The view of the Wanganui River and surroundings wero all that could be desired. Costly and numerous presents were displayed iu the drawing-room, showing how popular the newly-married couple were with their friends and well-wishers. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a diamond pendant set in platinum, while he received from her a moat valuable and appropriate gift. Later in the afternoon Dr. and Mrs Douglas Wilson left on their wedding tour, showered with confetti and carrying with them the best wishes of their many friends.
