T.M.C.A. NOTES.

The Y.M.C.A. ladies' gymnasium (Tuesday) class held a very successful display on Tuesday night. There was a very fair attendance of and the ladies, insisted by a squad of senior boys, acquitted themselves very creditably, their programme including musical exercises, such as marching, dumbbells, clubs, wands, and running maze, whilst the lads gave exhibitions on the parallel and horizontal bare, Miss Bowater contributed a fiue solo, and Miss Webb-Jones gave a recitation. Just before the close of the display Mr John McMillan, presidnt of the Association, congratulated the ladies and the boys upon their excellent work and enthusiasm, and referred epeoially to the splendid interest taken in the classes by Mr A, C. Galloway, the instructor, the display that night being a tribute to his abilities. Mr McMillan also thanked Master Laurie' Bowen for his readiness to officiate at the piano throughout the session. An appreciation of the display by the performers as carried by hearty acclamation. The secretary of the Y.M.C.A. desires to thankfully acknowledge the receipt of 4s 6d for Y.M.C.A. work from a wellwisher, being 2s from "Gasman" and 2s 6d from "Waterman/' This kindly gift, with its sentiments, is gladly accepted. The Y.M.C.A. hockey team will next week clcse the playing season with a social evening. A special programme for the lads is being arranged. It is anticipated that the boys will be able to put two cricket teams in the iield this summer.
