GARDENING BEHIND LINES.
ITALIANS CAPTURE FOOD PLOTS. LONDON, September 29. -Mr Jeffries, the Daily Mail correspondent on the Julian front, says that the Austrian endeavours to regain the lost positions the Sardinians captured on the Bainsizza Plateau have been repelled. The enemy have lost more ground of military importance, including allotments of land which the soldiers had cultivated because the Austrians needed foodstuffs. The Sardinians were delighted because of their defeat of ,the enemy gardeners,' to the remainder of whose cultivated land the Italian artillery are now directing attention.
