AN INDECENT DOCUMENT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 4. ■Reserved judgment was delivered this morning by Mr McCarthy, Magistrate, in the case against Duncan Nevin, manager of "Williamson's, that he caused to be inserted in a newspaper an advertisement re the cinematograph film, ''lntolerance," which newspaper became an indecent document. The Magistrate said the advertisement, in his opinion, had been inserted to create the impression in the public mind that the • film "Intolerance" was blatantly obscene, in the hope of swelling the number of visitors to the show, thus*it had a mischievous and immoral tendency, and the newspaper in which it was inserted became, therefore, an indecent document. The defendant was convicted and fined £5. with costs £2 9s. Security for appeal was fixed.
