Y.M.C.A. NOTES.

On Saturday afternoon tLe crosscountry championship of the Y-M.C.A. Boys' Department was decided. The work of the Harrier Club' during the winter has been very satisfactory and Saturday saw the pick of these fellows toe tiie, mark for a long run of something like eight miles.\ A well-laid trail led the boys over the kill country at the back and to the east of Wanganm East, coming out again back at the railway bridge, thence via the river Lank and Dublin Street to the. Avenue, giving a fine finish to the Y-:M.G.A. The pack ran splendidly, ©rery fellow finishing the course, the three first making home in splendid time -and style. Ist, Roy Christie; 2nd, Harold Ward; 3rd, Rob Scott. The time taken was exactly one hour. / To-morrow night the Y.M.C.A. ladies' Tuesday gymnasium class will give its closing display. The ladies have had a successful session, and friends .will havd this opportunity of seeing some of their work. A squad of senior boys wiH also assist in the display. Mr A. €. Galloway, the instructor, hopes to have a f;ooa muster of class members. adies should be on the gym. floor* jflp v 7.15 for preliminary work. -.- The Hockey Glub on Saturday played a team from the Girls' College. A splendid game resulted in the Y.M. boys winning by 4 goals to 1.
