RED CROSS DEPOT. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE. A splendid consignment of goods for the New Zealand Sick and Wounded, nas just been forwarded from the Red Cross Depot, opposite T&ain and Co. The goods are. as follows-.—120 suits pyjamas, 100 shirts, 50 sheets, 20 draw sheets, 144 pillow-slips, 144 handkerchiefs, 200 towels, 20 flannel bedjackets, 8 flannel coats, 8 cushions, 40 pre. socks, 22 underveste, 60 prs. slippers, 23 prs. mitts, 4 chest protectors, 8 hot water bag covers, books, and papers. The medical cases contained the following : —2OOO swabs, 10 foot water bags, 3 air cushions, medicated gauzes, adhesive plaster, absorbent cotton, mackintosh sheeting, face cloths, bandages, gauze sponges, pluggings, old linen, etc., all of which were specially asked for the Brigade Hospital in Etaples, where New Zealanders are received direct from the firing line. The Red Cross shop did the usual brisk trade on Saturday last. Donations were received from the following:—Mesdames o. Hair, Wm. Ashwell, C. Higgie, C, M. Cresswell , Snowden Taylor", Russell Grace, C. C. Smith,, J. J. Taylor, Horace Wilson, J. Paul, J. Calver, Dykes, Cox, Salter (2 dressed fowls), Lewis; the Misses Marjorie Smith, Darley, rj. Day, M. and J. Moore, F. Urquhart, G. and M. "Walsh, Gifford-Moore, N. Wright, M. Milne, Parsons, Cowper, Jones; Mrs C, "Anonymous," "A Friend," Mis Brown JBI. The shop is open every Saturday, and whilst deeply appreciating the help so regularly in the past, it is hoped that still more donations will be forthcoming for this object.
