FOOD PROBLEM AT HOME.

With a view to reducing imports of foodstuffs, Mr Pro!hero is urging farmers to substantially reduce live stock before Xnias, and to economise oil cake and corn meal by using grass, green crops and roots. Mr Prothero has withdrawn his order restricting the slaughter of calves, and .suggests the cancellation of fat stock shows. APPEAL TO FARMERS. LONDON, April 14. The Right Hon. Sir Allwyn Fellowes, addressing agriculturists in London, said that as a result of subrnarinings, the stock of foodstuffs would possibly be lower til an when Mr Lloyd George issued his warning.
