SECOND EDITION. BRITISH TACTICS
ENEMY FLANK ATTACKS IMPOSSIBLE. GERMAN LINE SERIOUSLY THREATENED. (Alls, and N.Z. Cable Assn. and Renter.) Received April 13, 2.50 pm. PARIS, April 12. Much admiration is expressed here ht the new British tactics, whereby the front attack is widened as the attack i progresses, instead of narrowing, as iin previous Allied offensives. Thus, it |is now impossible for the enemy to make flank attacks, as uo salient is produced. The British front has been clottbted in two days like the opening of a fan. Its left commands the Douai plain, and the centre is -vithin seven miles of Douai, while the right is dangerously threatening the German lines with envelopment, and the whole is progressing towards Lens.
