THE TRADE IN HIDES.

NEW AUSTRALIAN REGULATION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association Received April 13, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, April 13. A legulaiion controlling the trade iu hides has been gazetted. It compels tanners to make available up to 75 per cent, of 1 heir output for local requirements. Mr Hughes m negotiating with the Imperial authorities to secure freight for the export surplus. It is understood the regulation in the outcome of certain tanneftj, attracted by high prices abroad, attempting to export their whole output without regard to local requirements.
