After the performance in the Y.M.C.A. teat at the Territorial Camp on the Racecourse, tie Wanganui Venetian Orchestra were invited to the officers' mess for supper, during the course of which the president of the orchestra (Dr. Hatherley) took the opportunity of presenting Mr P. E. Weight, secretary, a gold medallion engraved with the orchestra's badge, "The Gondola." The president spoke very highly of the manner in which Mr Weight had carried out his duties, and very much, regretted, losing his valuable services as a player as well as secretary of the orchestra. The recipient, who leaves Wanganui on Monday next to take up the position of travelling representative for a firm of merchants in Auckland, suitably responded. Subsequently a few of the members of the orchestra adjourned to the omaers' smoke-room, and entertained the company with several items.
