MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR SAILING. TRENCH IMPLEMENTS ORDERED. Received April 9, 12.T0 p.m. *NBW YORK, April 8. The fact that the Government has adopted types of gas masks and steel helmets and has ordered trench bombs is interpreted as a preparation for European fighting. The interned ships are being repaired. Documents found show that the Germans had planned to destroy six of their ships. The plots were discovered.
