A HUGE LOAN.

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) Received April 9, 9.5 a.m. WASHINGTON, April 8. Official estimates of the winter wheat crop put it at fifty million bushels below last year. The Administration on Monday will ask Congress for authority to raise five billion dollars, of which three billion will be used to purchase Entente 3V 2 per cent, war bonds. It is stated that the United States will not take the profits of this huge loan, and will offer the Entente the same interest as the bonds bear. This is America’s immediate contribution to the Allied cause. The remaining tw r o billions will be used for war purposes.
