PRELIMINARY TO FRESH OPERATIONS. ~ ' y Received April 9, 9.5 a.m, LONDON, April 8. The large number of aerial encounters on Friday supports the Standard’s statement that a great bombardment of the German lines has commenced, preliminary to operations which will show by the end of the end of the week whether the Germans are willing to accept a decisive battle.
