AUSTRIA & GERMANY

A SUPPOSED DLSAGREEMENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, April 7. The Morning Poet’s Amsterdam correspondent states that there is a general impression in Holland that some disagreement exists between Austria and Germany regarding tbe fresh peace move. The Lokal Anzeiger on Monday announced semi-officially that Germany would co-operate with Austria in a new proposal on the lines of M. Czem in 'e interview. Now the Kolenische Zeitung denies the report, adding merely that Germany is still willing to enter into negotiations for an honourable peace. It is believed here that both announcements represented the official German view when they were made. Germany hoped by the first report to induce Congress at Washington to insist, upon a modified war policy, but President Wilson’s address destroyed that hope. Germany then disavowed that intention, fearing it would indicate weakness. Hollweg’s conferences with Cnemin have ended.
