MANAWATU GORGE ROAD.

QUESTION OH MAINTENANCE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 29. The Full Court is hearing a special case stated by the Commissioner appointed to inquire into and report as to the maintenance of Manawatu Gorge road and bridges, which affects all localities from Napier and Wanganui down to Wellington. Wellington and Wanganui boroughs raised to contentions which are .submitted to the Court. The first is that- the Commissioners should be guided by Section 119, Sub-section 2, of the Public Works Act, 1908, and, secondly, that nonlocal authority should be required to contribute under Section 120 of the Public Works Act that could not be required to contribute under Section 119. Mr O’Shea appeared for the boroughs, and Mr Myers for the Pahiatua County Council, at whose instance the Commission was appointed. JUDGMENT RESERVED. WELLINGTON. March 29. The Full Court reserved judgment in re the Manawatu Gorge Road and Bridges Commission.
