SWIMMING.

GONVILLE SCHOOL SWIMMING - SPOETS. The Gonville School Swimming sports held in the Gonville Baths yesterday afternoon, proved a great success, there being a large attendance of parents and school children. Most of the events were very closely contested. Great credit is due to Mr. C. H. Bowater, the headmaster, who, as general supervisor, kept thirgs going merrily, there being some thirty events to swim off. Mr Slyfield, as judge, gave every satisfaction, and special thanks are due to Mr Lampe for his very interesting display of fancy swimming. Mr T. Anderson acted as nandicapper and starter. The prizes were donated by various ladies and gentlemen to whom also thanks are due. Two points prizes, donated by Mr Slyfield, were won by:— Boys.— Gilherd and N. Marsden, dead heat, 13 pts. Girls.—E. Braid 12 pts, M. Creased pts. The School Championships were won by:— Boys.—A. Tilley 12 pts, N. Marsden 8 pts. Girls.—E. Braid 9 pta, M. Crease 4 pts.
