WATERSIDERS' TROUBLES

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 29. Owing to a dispute regarding the method of working cargo, work was interrupted on two ships. On one that was discharging general cargo the watereiders objected to nets being used instead of slings, claiming that the former were dangerous. The employer insisted on the use of nets. The men were obdurate, and the matter ended in their services being dispensed with, and unloading ceased. In the other case, wherein a vessel was loading produce, the men refused to handle more than about two-thirds of the usual number oi boxes of butter in the net, and they were put off the job.
