TITANTIC SEA STRUGGLE PENDING.
BRITAIN’S GREAT PREPARATIONS. TRIAL OF STBENGTH UNDERSEA EXPECTED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ( Received January 30, 10.0 a.m. NEW YORK, January 29. The New York Times states that well-informed circles in London consider the intense if unadvertlsed activity of the Admiralty supports the belief in an impending trial of strength between Britain and Germany undersea. Britain, if she fully armed her merchantmen, would have the strength of about 4000 against Germany’s 1000 submarines. Britain has been scientifically using to the fullest her ship-building facilities, and the deadliest sea struggle in hlstroy seems likely to be staged in the near future.
