WANGANUI v. OEOUA.

The return match between Wanganui and Oroua juniors was played at Cook’s Gardens on Saturday, the home side winning by eight wickets. Wanganui batted first on a fast wicket and compiled 217, the principal scorers being White 63, Wood 44, Butcher 42, Richdale 16 (not out), Macken 11, Earles 15. The Sugden brothers, who arrived late on the scene, were the beat of the visiting bowlers. The visitors replied with 86,. Power (not out) 25, and Watson 21, alone getting double figures. • Harrison with four wickets for 19 came out with the best bowling figures. Following on, Oroua did much better making 146. James top-scored with 34, but Watson with 33 again batted well. EigEt bowlers were tried at the crease, and seven of them claimed a victim.

Wanganui lost two wickets in obtaining the requisite 26 runs to win.
