ILLEGAL GOLD DEALING.

(Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, January 29,

In the Warden’s Court this morning; Hans Olsen was charged with, not being the holder of a gold dealer’s license, he had sold 10 or 15 dwts. of gold to Frank Eaton Pollett for A3l 10s. Pollett was charged that, not being the holder of a- gold dealer’s license, he bought gold from Olsen. For the prosecution it was stated that Olsen, who was dredge-master for the Manuhurika Company, came to Dunedin ;and sold the gold to Pollett, who is a jeweller. Til© Magistrate convicted Olsen and sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment. Pollett was fined .-£IOO and costs.
