The Corriere d’ltalia’s Berne correspondent states that Mackensen has intimated that unless speedily reinforced his armies in Roumania will Boon he critically situated. Both Sofia and Constantinople have replied £hat they are unable to send further troops. WELLINGTON, January 29. _ The Governor has received, through the Secretary of Satte for the ""Colonies, the following cablegram:—His Majesty the King of Roumania sends the following reply to the New Year’s greetings: “I beg to convey to the Government of New Zealand my heartfelt thanks for the expression of your warm sympathy with my country and their good wishes for the New Year, trusting that the hard times we are passing through will soon be over. I feel myself at one with our Allies In their firm resloution In fighting till final victory assures lasting peace and the welfare of our fountriea.”
