HURN OUP. Sutcliffe brought in a Marton rink ou Thursday and tried conclusions with Gordon’s team for the above trophy, and managed to score a good win. In the early stages of the game the St. John’s players got away with a good lead. At the tea adjournment the score board read:—St. John’s, 10; Marton, 2. After resuming Sutcliffe tried the forcing game, and it came off, and he piled on three fourers and a three in quick succession, and at the 20th head Marten’s total was 24. Gordon’s men had only managed to increase their total to i 4. and the last head was not played. The teams were as follows; — St. John’s—Laird, Gellatly, Scrivener, Gordon (a) 14 v. Marton—Ward, Murray, Cummins, Sutcliffe (s) 24.
