CANADIAN GOyERNMENX ACTION. , Action is being taken by the Governnent of Canada to deal with, the increased cost of living, and to prevent combinations to enhance the price of the necessaries of life. Persons convicted of combinations to increase prices will be liable to a fine of £IOOO or two years’ imprisonment. Food, clothing, fuel, and materials used in manufactures are classed as necessaries. It is to be made an offence to limit facilities for" transportation, manufacturing, storage, and merchandising of necessaries, or to prevent or lessen, competition. Express accumulations of food will be illegal.
