INFORMATION ON VARIOUS POINTS.

Under the National Registra' ion Act passed during the Session just ended, every male resident in the Dominion n required to furnish to the (loveinmeh 1 Statistician at Wellington a jensonal schedule, setting out full particulars a< to his age, nationality,, occupation. d»pendonts, etc., and also stating whether ho is willing to become a mcniocr «.i an Expeditionary Force in connection with the present war. or not. quited." Hy notice in our advertising columns, (ho schedules, which are obtain able at any Post Office in the Dominion, must he furnished not later than Tuesdav, 9th November. The schedule, on being complcted, is to he placed in the addressed envelope provided, and handed to an officer of the Post and Telegraph Department. or posted direct to the oovert] men Statistieian at Wellington. The particulars are strictly confidential under tie* Act, and an addre«.ed envelope is provided in each case to ensure this being observed.

The Act imposes penalties m> to iMoo. or imprisonment up to six months, on any person who fail* to furnish the particular reouired. or who makes a false statement. It should also be noted that (he ohlim*tion to register is a. personal eus, and the fact that a form has not lieen addressed to, or received by, any person does not absolve him from responsibility to register. Anv person who refuses, faiU. or neglects to register will bo prosecuted.
