HOURS EXTENDED. 1 Mr R. W. Smith, M.P. for Waimarino, has received the following letter . from the Postmaster-General:— .1 “Sir, —In reference to the letters to you of the 11th and 10th instant fron) the clerk., Wanganui County Council, ap'd’ the clerk, Kaitiejte County' Council; respectively; supporting Ithe resolution passed by the Mariawatd'Ckrunty ' Gouhr 1 cil. .asking that this Department’s regulations be amended'to 'allow telephone exchanges with from thirty to fifty subscribers to bp open- between the-: ; hours of 8 a.m. and 8 iv.m.-/I have thplionour ’ to inform you that it has bpen decided to amend the, regulation to provide foir the additional attendance to be given on pavnienf by each of the subscribers of a" additional'foe Of £l'pcr annum. This amount, it is estimated, will barely cover the cost to the Department of the extra attendance.” ' . ,
