AN IMPORTANT JUDGMENT.

Press Association— -Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, November 30. The High Court has 'delivered an important judgment in connection with tho Seamen’s Compensation Act. The second officer of a steamer was killed at sea, and the widow recovered .£SOO damages. Tho Australian Steamship Company apnealed against the verdict, on the ground that the Commonwealth Parliament had no power to pass an Act relating to extraterritorial matters. The court, by five to one, Justice Barton being the dissentient, dismissed the appeal.
