WELLINGTON BOARD, BUSINESS AT MONTHLY-MEETING. The monthly meeting of . the Wellington District Land Board was ' held at Wellington on Thursday. , Mr U. R. Ni Wright appeared on behalf of H. Woods with regard to an application for the remission of one year’s rent on section 14, block 3, Kaitieke. It was resolved to adhere to the former recommendation- that the concession be granted to the transferee Colledge and not to Woods. TRANSFERS.—The following applicationjg to transfer were received, .and it was, resolved to approve on' the usual conditions:—W. H. Poison, part 1 of section .2-1, block 9, Mangawhero, 255 a It 29p.—It was resolved to approve, : subject ..to the,.ranger’s' report being satisfactory. A sublease from C. Downard to A- H. Humphrey of section 23, block 13, Mangahao, , 200 acres (term 8 years 9 months) was approved. - CONDITIONS UNHEEDED .—The following selectors had failed to. .comply with the conditions, and action Was taken in each case;—G. B. Bell, section 6, block 16, Retaruke, 537 ’ acres, non-im-provement.—Resolved that he b© requested to show cause why his interest should not bo forfeited. G. L. Winger, section 2, block 6, Owhango township, 3r 7p, non-residence.-—Twelve mouths’ exemption be granted. H. B. Littlowood, section 3, block 6, Whirinaki, 358 - 2r, deficient improvements.—Unless, improvements are well in hand within six months it was resolved that his-interest be declared forfeited.- Joseph Cody, section 4, block 6, Whirinaki, 276 acres, non-resi-idence and deficient improvements.— Explanation satisfactory in meantime. , G. V. Pepper, section 3, block 5, Maungakaretu, 134 a lr, non-residence.—No further action to he- taken at present. .MISGELLANEpUS.—G. F; Poster applied to register D. Mackenzie as his substitute for residence on section .13, block 12, Whirinqki, 1120 acres.—Approved. A report was submitted by District Surveyor A. “M. Roberts upon abqilt 3900 acres of Crown lands in blocks 5 and 6, Rnahine, and it was resolved to instruct the surveyor to subdivide that land- if possible liito four allotments. It was resolved to, approve of Mrs E. M. Mackenzie felling a strip of bush on tho boundary of section. 28, block 10, Umutoi, and her holding, to allow of erection of fencing line, provided the whole, expense is borne .by the applicant—lt was resolved to grant licenses to Messrs H. T. Warner and G. H. Price of the strips of Crown land fronting their hold-; ings, 15 and 16, block 14, Manganui, for a term of five years, under section 130' of the I,and Act, 1908, at the rental/recommended by the ranger; licenses to!be subject to the usual conditions.—lt. was resolved' to decline A. T. Gardner’s, application for a lease of section' 7, block 9, Manganui (survey reserve), and section 11, block 13, Manganui (bridge reserve); —With reference to a permit granted in June, 1809, to W. L. Armstrong to occupy small strip of Crown land as a site for a whare near Owhango, it was resolved to determine it, as he is no longer in occupation.-—lt was resolved to give W. Wilson twelve months’ notice of determination of his lease to occupy part’ section 375, block 5, Wairoa S.D. ,(20a Or 00p'),' with the view of then offering this land on renewable lease at a rental based on ranger’s valuation, —It . was resolved to offer sections 46 to 64, inclusive, bjpek 5, Karibi S.D., under part 3 of the Land Act, 1908, at the prices fixed,, by the ranger.—H. Crawley applied to. he allowed to purchase, the freehold of 166, block 16, Nukumaru,, and it was re-, solved not to dispose of the freehold'at present, but to allow the present lessee to remain in occupation temporarily for a- further period.—-The.Mangaweka Town Board forwarded proposals for the expenditure of thirds accrued to April Ist' last, amounting to, £S, i4s. 4d, and 1 it was resolved to approve, subject to investigation by the ranger and so far as: the amounts are still available.
