There was a large attendance of buyers ; at to-day’s sale when we offered a quantity of wool and a good catalogue of sheepskins, hide.', and calfskins, and a small quantity of tallo’w and fat.- Wool sold well at late rates;; hides, and calfskins wore keenly competed for, but sheep- ■ skins were a little easier .and may. be quoted at Jd to -Ul per lb lower. , We obtained up to for calfskins. Next sale will be held.on Friday, 18th December. The following range of prices were obtained: Sheepskins—Halfbred, : 9d to 9Jd; fine crossbred, B?<d to 9d; medium to coarse crossbred, 8d to ,9d; short to half wools, 5Jd to 8d ; dead and damaged crossbred, 3d to 7i[d; inferior and s badly damaged, Id to 4d; lambs, GJd to 7fd; ’damp, salted and- green, 4s 6d to 7s lid; pells, Is lOd to'2s 3d; lambs, Is 7d to 2s 2d. Bidding was animated, buyers operating freely,, and' with confidence. Wool and skins advanced Id per lb on last sale rates. Hides were steady, and tallow showed a rise of Is per ,cwt. We quote: Wo:L—Bag lots only. Black fleece, 7d; broken fleece, 7d; dead wool, SJd; crutchings, 61d'; locks, 4Jd to s£d. Skins.—Coarse crossbred full-wools, B}d ; three-quarter wools, 6)d.to GJd; lambs, to 7-Id; shortwools, ,4Jd to 5-jd; hoggets, 6d to 8d: pelts. 4d to 4Jd; dead and broken, 4d to Gpl; damaged and inferior, 2d to 3Jd;,.salted pelts. Is 4d. ■Tallow.—Casks (in shipping order), fair, ■£2 l per ton; tins, £lO to <£lß 10s."
