KING’S THEATRE. Tne new programme at the King’s this evening introduces the stirring naval and military feature drama, “Victory.” This film was produced with the co-operatfoii of the United States Naval Authorities, and the cast includes the following Government and naval officials: Josephus Daniels, secretary of U.S.A. Navy;' Admiral Badger, Com.-in-Chief of Atlantic Fleet; Com. Benson, of U.S.S. Utah; Lieut.. Com. Bassett, Lieut.-Com. Butler, and many others, also a notable cast of stage and motion picture celebrities, including Miss Annie Lehr and Mr Arthur Hull. The plot is associated with the murder of President Martinez, of Antilles, by General De la Monte, who throws suspicion on Lieut. Towers owing to the latter’s popularity witli Helen Gordon, the daughter of the American Ambassador. Helen obtains proofs of his innocence which she presents to her father, who subsequently secures his release. Meanwhile De la Monte presses his suit with Helen who, after an interview with the general, . overhears a plot to mine the British battleship Utah which has been sent to suppress an uprising in the State. Helen informs her fiancee, Lieut. Towers, of the scheme and he makes a fast hydroplane flight to warn the commander. Towers receives promotion, and we leave him with his promised bride. Naval and military battles are shown, in which thousands of sailors and soldiers take part. A fight is depicted in which are seen battleships, cruisers, destroyers, • hydroplanes, and forts iu action, the majority of the scenes being laid at Guantanamo, the Cuban station of the U.S. Fleet. A Topical War film lay the Eclair Co. is a really acceptable contribution, depicting latest war news from Europe. “White Fawn,” as a sterling Western drama. “Who’s Who in Zooland” is of ■ educational interest, and a mirthful comedy sketch is “Just a Night.” Patrons will do well not to miss this fine hill. HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. “GOODNESS GRACIOUS!” TO-NIGHT. Fuller’s management announce that they have been fortunate enough to secure a splendid film, entitled “Goodness Gracious,” or “Movies as they Shouldn’t be,” produced by the famous Vitagraph Company and shown at their theatre, Broadway, New York, for fourteen nights, to crowded house's, “Goodness” Gracious!” is intensely humorous, and never yet failed to extract a hearty laugh of appreciation. The heroine', Gwendoline, is given to devouring most romantic novels and though poor, is a beautiful girl with very large eyes and a sentimental nature. She is loft an 01phan and starts out to seek honest employment. The climax is immensely interesting. Tlie Gaumont- Graphic (the latest war number), “Crocodile Shooting" (coloured), "A Scoundrel’s Chance” (beautifully coloured drama) and “Bill’s Job ; ,C an exceptionally clever comedy, are other-first-class pictures. Splendid . music by Fuller’s Grand Orchestra will accompany the films. Seats may be reserved at the Dresden, Eidgway Street. Members of the “Beauty and the Beast" pantomime .are',requested to meet in the practice-room'.-qn,,Tuesday next,, at 8 p m., to practice.for next. Friday's performance. The Rose Show to he held on Wednesday, December 2nd, should draw a crowd to the Drill Hall, as in addition to the display of blooms there will he several side-shows, and the whole proceeds will be devoted to the Belgian Food Fund. The Horticultural Society!/ has been working under considerable difficulty, and their determination, in the face of their financial stringency, to devote the proceeds to such a deserving case as the Belgians should ensure hearty support from 'the general public.
