SIR JOSEPH WARD. HIS TRIUMPHANT TOUR (By Telegraph.—Special to Herald.) . , AUCKLAND, Noyeihher 30. i Sir Joseph Ward Spent a very busy 1 day on Saturday. Only ,■ a few hours’ notice was. given of the visit, but so eager were the people of the (district to hear the Liberal leader that,they drove in for miles around. The. hall is a fairly large one, and every scat was occupied, while, dozens of. people were content to stand.’ Sir Joseph spoke for about an hour and a half. lie received an enthusiastic and. cordial hearing, and , a unanimous vote qf thanks and confidence was carried.. . _ At 3 o’clock Sir' Joseph spoke at Hamilton, the- hall being crowded.. They cheered the. Liberal leader to the echo when he arrived, and his speech, which lasted two hours, was punctuated with applause and cheers. A strong resolution was carried thanking Sir Joseph for his speech, and wishing him success at the polls, the sincere hope being expressed that the Tories would be ousted from office on December 10th. The meeting closed, with cheers for Sir Joseph and Lady Ward. - At Cambridge at night Sir Joseph spoke to another' crowded meeting in the Town Hall. This meeting also was called at .a few hours’ notice. The people simply flocked to the building, and numbers were unaoie to gain admission. It was voted the 'most enthusiastic meetings ever held in the district; A vote of thanks and confidence was carried by' an ■overwhelming majority. In spite of the very rough weather, there, was a large attendance- at the Eeilding Drill Hall on Friday night to hear a political address by Mr W. Teitcli. - ; The. speaker received an excellent hearing throughout, all his points beinw strongly approved by the audience.
