(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 20. _ At a further meeting of the Council of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Associations it was decided that in regard to the selection of the proposed team for Australia, that Messrs J. A. Kilgou? (Auckland), T. Bush (W’ellingtou), M. Barnett (Christchurch) and C. J. Payne (Dunedin) be the selection committee. In regard to the annual tournament, it was decided that play commence on January lltli, and that, the programme consist of rinks, pairs/ and singles’ matches. The following conditions will fie observed: That the rinks match be played on the sectional system, the winners and ties in sections to qualify for inter-sectional play; that intcrsectional play be on the “sudden death” principle; that the pairs match start on Friday morning, the Christchurch system to be adopted; that the singles’ championship match commence on Monday, ’January 18th, the Dunedir system to be adopted, with the exception that the losers shall not play the losers in the fourth round. It was resovled that a hearty invitation be sent to all the Australian States tc send teams to compete at the annua! tournament next January, and if possible to tour, the Dominion. On the proposal of Colonel Collins, the secretary was instructed to write to the Australian Bowling Council suggesting a conference between representatives of the associations, to be held at some time during the Australasian bowling carnival to consider the uniformity of the laws of the game, and other matters of interest to bowlers.
