WAVERLEY NOTES.

TOWN BOARD MEETING, (From Our Own Correspondent.) WAVERLEY, July 10. A mooting of the Town Board was hold last evening. Present—Messrs 11. P. Palmer (chairman), S. J. Price, J. M. Linldatcr, J. Bason, and B. McDonald. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed. Finance—Credit balances were given as follows:—Genera! account, £l4l 4s 13d; lighting, and water loan account, £479 9s 7d, separate account £24 lls Id. Accounts amounting to £l9 10s 7d wore passed for payment on general account, and for £2 8s 2d on the water and lighting loan account^ Correspondence was received and read from the following; T. F. Martin, solicitor to Municipal Associations.—Received. F. Scott, re claim for wages.—Resolved that the sum of 10s bo paid. R. J. Collins, of Treasury O.licc, regarding further roi|uirments with loan moneys —Referred for further consideration in committee.

Turnbull and Jones, in reply to matters relating to Mr Olimic’a report and enclosing draft license of water power for generating electricity for approval.—Held over for consideration in committee.

Turnbull and Jones, re completion of works and storage of machinery.—This was also held over

Vouchers—Messrs Walpole, Darlington, and Patterson for payments duo and enclosing part iculars of extras submitted.— Held over for consideration in committee.

■Robinson and dhristoplior: Offering their services as engineer,—Resolved that letter he acknowledged.

Raglan Town Hoard—Asking the Board’s support for their remits "to the Municipal Associations’ Conference.—Resolved that Mr O. V. Pearce, M.P., he asked to he the Hoard's delegate, and to sunuert the remits of Raglan.

Kaponga Town Hoard—Soliciting information regarding tho raising of loans, —Replied to by tho clerk. H. W. Climio—Regarding terms for completion of t’ne 'water and lighting work.—Held over for consideration in committee. The Hoard then went into committee, and the press were asked to- leave the room
