The Department of Agriculture hai received the following cablegram from tin High Commissioner, dated London, Juh 7th, regarding the opening of the fonrtl series of Colonial wood .sales: —“The woo sales have commenced. There was a largt attendance of buyers and a good demand for all classes, especially fine wools, wide! ire in small supply. Americans are bid ding freely. Trade is good on the Con" tinent, but the Home trade is ouiet. Merinos and line crossbreds of all grades average -i|(J higher, and medium and coarse, crossbreds of all grades are linn at last ((notations. A total of ]Q7,OOf bales of New Zealand wool are catalogued
