Replying to the New South Wales Alliance deputation asking for the bare majority vote on the earlier closing of the hotels, and State option, the Minister-'of Justice said that pressure of business made it impossible for the requests to be considered this session, but he would sympathetically place their views before his colleagues next session. He had little hope of securing much in the way of iiqunr reform in the present Parliament. Until they could get in each electorate a strong party absolutely determined to out the liquor question first and foremost it was no use blaming Parliament for not doing what the Alliance wanted.
