At the annual meeting of the Pastoralists’ Association, the president stated that the flocks of New South M ales had decreased six millions during the past fiye years. The Argentine flocks were also decreasing. At the same time thy world’s meat consumption was expanding and all indications pointed to a world, wide scarcity and high prices in the near future. Referring to the late meat strike, ho said that it marked an important era in the history of industrial struggles, and proved the absolute necessity for employers in all callings to form themselves into one powerful organisation to resist the unfair, increasing, and insistent demands of employees. Unless they did so they could not hope to remain masters of their own businesses or to carry them on with an prospect of success.
