THE WOOLWICH STRIKE. < MEN ACCEPT INQUIRY. Press Association—Telegraph—Copyright. Received Julv 8, 2 p.m. LONDON, July 7. The Woolwich strike has ended, the men having accepted the offer of an inquiry. (Per United Press Asaociatioi ) CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. The dispute between the Amalgamated Society of Engineers and the employers was before the Conciliation Council. Tne men asked for a 44 hours’ week and increased pay The employers would not agree, and the case was referred to the Court.
