MGRTHLY MEETING.

The ordinary monthly meeting of tne Waitotara County Council was held in the Council Chambers in Ridgway Street this morning, presided oyer by the chairman, Cr Ritchie.. Other Councilors present wcrc;-Crs. Bindley, Mitchell, Connor, llnssell, and Morrison. RAORIKIA ROAD —The State Guaranteed ■ Advances’ Office notified the Council that a further loan of .£l7O, 10 per cent, on ill7oo, to complete construction of Eaorikia Road had been granted.—Received. : •' BUB-DIVISION—Tne District Land Registrar wrote re the sub-division of part section 31, right bank,. Wanganui River. He stated that up to the present McNeil Street had not been dedicated as A public road. Be further stated that as lie had evidence that the road had been formed and .completed in accordance with t’iiq Council’s regulations, but had held back registration in case the Council might object. / As the Council din_ not appear to dispute the' fact he had no grounds for resisting the registration.— Received. SUPERVISION—The Gonvlile Town Board’s Town Clerk wrote forwarding an account of £44 Is,3d as half cost of maintanging boundary roads, and asked that in future before doing any work on the boundary roads, the Council inform the Town Board. The Clerk also wrote that the Board suggested that the charge of 5 per cent, for supervision might be dispersed with by;-allowing the work to be supervised , jointly : by the Waitotara County Councils engineer and the Board’s' engineer, The engineer reported that the only work .carried out was maintenance work. The letter was received. ARAMOHO CEMETERY.—The Borough Engineer' applied’ for the Council’s permission to carry a pipe across the -oad from the now cemetery at Araraoho. The necessary permission waa given. LOWER WAITOTARA ROAD—A letter ..was received from the nnder-Sccre-tary for the Public Works Department rc the putting in order of the Lower Waitotara, stating that the Council’s request was receiving consideration—Received. DEDICATION.—Mr T. B. Slipper. <L behalf of Mrs D. Mclntyre, wrote to the Council re the dedication of strips of land for widening of roads along Jiis. client’s property. Councillors thought, that .there was plenty of room .on the road at present, and it was decided to allow the matter to remain in abeyance: for the time being, ' ’ , HOSPITAL , RATE—Th/secretary of the /Wanganui Hospital Board notified tile Council that the Board had decided to levy a rate of 7s (id per .£IOOO on ’ the cardial value of the rateable property in the County. The valuation of the Comity is .£1,54(1,616 and the 'contribution' is £579 19s Bd. Held over until next meeting. DANGEROUS CORNER—The secretary of the Wanganui Golf Club brought under the Council’ll notice, a, dangerous turning at the junction of the Mosstown road and the road leading to the Bel- ; mont,, Golf links. . The engineer .thought that the work would'bc ; rather expensive. It was decided to refer the matter, to the engineer for a report and estimate.
