METHODIST CONFERENCE.

(Per United Press Association.) DUN EDIN, March 4. Appreciative reference was made to the following ministers, whose'deaths occurred during the year Charles E. Ucccroit, Win. Tinsley, and Barton H. Ginger. Many members of the conference bore testimony to the good 'work of the visiting missionaries (the Rev, and Mrs ' Yallance Cook), Kev. W. V. Triggc, and Sister Frances. The Church report showed an inexplicable decrease of 3G69 in the number of adherents, whereas formerly the Church return approximated to the census figures. North Taranaki.—Uriti Watca and homo missionaries. DUNEDIN, March 5. At a sitting of the Methodist Conference to-day, the Rev. P. Slade, was appointed official representative of the New Zealand CJhurch to various Methodist Conferences in Great Britain. The Rev. Griffiths is ,to be associated with Mr Slade as representative to 'tiie English,. Wesleyan Conference, and was granted special commendatory letters. Home mission affairs ■were introduced by Mr Neale (treasurer). The income for the fund for IS)):! was £561. The capital account of the fund stands at £G2BB. The average interest earned by the fund was 51 pot cent. The estimates for 1914 showed” an income !of 85982 and an expenditure of J5523. The assessments were accepted and grants made on the basis of these estimates. . A deputation from the Council of Churches waited upon the conference, and Mr J, H. Heigh way conveyed greetings. The Rev. J. G. Gun and Hon. J. Luke responded on behalf of the conference.' Unofficial intimation was received of a bequest by Air Collison, of Hastings, of ■£looo to various purposes of the Church. Resolved that an effort bo made to secure from the Victorian Conference a visit to New Zealand from the Rev. Yalraont Trigge in 1915.
