QUESTION OF RE-DISTRIBUTION. SELECT COMMITTEE APPOINTED. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, March 6. The House of Commons agreed to Air Edgar Jones’ motion to appoint a select committee to consider redistribution. Air Long appealed to the Government to institute an independent inquiry to prevent the present suggestion ,01' gerrymandering constituencies. The Hon. Mr Samuel said the Government was willing to appoint a Minister to the committee if the Opposition would join in the effort to formulate A fair scheme. He hoped to settle redistribution before the general election in 1915 if Parliament ran its normal course. WELSH DISESTABLISHMENT. LONDON, March 5. The Right Hon. H. H. Asquith received from, the organisers of the Welsh Nonconformists a petition against Disestablishment. He said the deputation failed to supply a reason for their attitude, or to explain their objections to disendow ment. There is little doubt that Mr Asquith’s proposals will have Mr Redmond’s concurrence, although there are some Ministerialist fears of the attitude of the Nationalist Convention, if called upon to sanction the changes. NEW BILLS. Received March G. 8.55 a.m. LONDON. March 5. In the House of Commons the Right Hon. J. A. Pease introduced the Plural Voting Bill, and the Right Hon. R. AleKenna the Welsh Church Bill. A private Bill was introduced to permit women to practise as solicitors.
