BIG ROAD RACE ABANDONED. Press Association.—'Telegraph.—Copyright Received June 26, 9.55 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 25. Ina Dunlop Company announce that the Warnambool to Melbourne road race has been:abandoned owing to the authorities refusing to allow the finish to take place at the Haymarket Ground,- as the crush at the finish constituted a great danger to both the competitors and-the public. As compensation, the company inaugurates an Australasian teams relay road .'race of a hundred miles, and offers over £2OO in prizes.
