HOCKEY.
SATURDAY’S GAMES. Three good games rewarded the hockey enthusiasts who journeyed to the Association’s grounds on Saturday. Results; SENIOR. ■ HINEMOA (2) v. UNITED (1). This match proved the interesting Struggle it was anticipated, and a good fast game of hockey resulted, too fast to fee controlled by one referee. In the first spell United opened strenuously, and did most of the attacking, but the scores were level, one goal each.. Hinemoa commenced the second spell with great dash, and eventually their efforts were rewarded. Hinemoa were all out, and they came through winners by two goals (shot by J. Connell) to one (shot by L. P. Cave). Mr C. Goldsbuvy carried the whistle, and gave every satisfaction. junior; UNITED (2) v. ST..PAUL’S (0). United had one of the hardest victories they have bad this year in getting a win over St. Paul’s, who'have improved considerably of late. HINEMOA A (4) v. HINEMOA D'(o). In the early stages the B’s more than bold their own, but the litle fellows soon tired, and their bigger opponents -soon had a lead. The B’s, however, played a very plucky game.
