BATHED WITH CLOTHES ON.
BAPTISM IN THE SEA. LONDON, June 17. A novel ceremony was witnessed in the sea off Yarmouth this morning, when seven men-and five women, fully dressed, were baptised by immersion into - the ranks ;of a religious sect. .-?*■ The sea was choppy, but a bright srun made matters fairly pleasant for the Enthusiasts. CHEAP WOMEN WORKERS. HALFPENNY AN HOUR. LONDON, June 17. At a meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ireland posterday. it was asserted that many adult women in Belfast were working for a halfpenny and three farthings an hour.
Delegates said that the women were glad to gel the work to supplement their husbands’ earnings.
