LEAGUE. NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE MEETING. THE AUSTRALIAN TOUR. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 9. The annual meeting oi the New Zealand Rugby Football League was held this evening, the president (Mr D. W. McLean) presiding. The report congratulated the affiliated Leagues on the prosperous season. The balance-sheet showed the finances to be very sound, the profit on the year’s work being ,£264, plus .£lO3 grants given. The election of officers resulted;— President, D. W. McLean; general secretary, H. Oakley; hon. treasurer, W. C. Carlaw; council, A. E. Powell (Auckland), A. Campbell (Canterbury), E. Watts (Marlborough), P. Asher (Wanganui), W. T. Wynyard (Hawke’s Bay), A. Powloy (Wellington); hon. registrar, A. Powloy; auditors, R. Brigham and S. Barry; selectors, R. McDonald (Auckland), W. S. Bruce (Wellington), W. Brunsdcn (Canterbury). The Marlborough League was affiliated. It was decided to send 22 men and two managers to Australia, the team to be selected on Saturday, May 17. LEAGUE GAME. - The season opened on Saturday, the unfavourable .weather conditions making it very disagreeable for both players and spectators.
