Capt. Dawson, of, the College Rifles, Vuokiaml, who' represented Auckland at tho N.. Rugby Conference in .Wellington, arrived in Wanganui .yesterday and left for the north again by this . afternoon's Main Trunk Express. Tim Rev. \V. G. Clarke, a member of the Methodist Ohufclv Adelaide, is at present in Wanganui, visiting relatives. Mr Clarke is an ox-prosident pf tho South Australian Conference', and is one of Adelaide’s most popular ministers. He preaches at Trinity to-morrow evening. ■ A pleasant little’ ceremony took place to-day at the reservoir works at Westmore, when the staff employed'there presented Mr R. McGonagle, who has resigned his position as foreman, with a travelling rug. There were various speakers, Mr alcGonasrlc suitably replied. Word was received in town to-day that only four candidates throughout the Dominion had‘succeeded in passing' the final section in the last pharmacy examinations, one of them being'Mr Jas. Bird, of Kitchen’s Phanfiacy, Wanganui. Mr Joseph Quirk, of Morgan’s Pharmacy, Wanganui, passed section A.
