Mr C. 11. Lawn -lias resigned his position ns engineer to the Oonvillo Town Board to take up-'ii position in the Public Works Department. Messrs G. Pownall. and T. H. Nixon proceeded bo ’Wellington yesterday as delegates of -the Wanganui Rugby Union tq attend the. iuuvual meeting of the New Zealand RugbyrUnion, which wili be held today. Mr'vG. iSpriggens, president of the Wanganio<dtUgby - Union, was’one of the ■’ appointed •delegates, but ho 'was unable to'attend. ■ ‘‘ ■ Miss S. F. R.; Blyth, for ■many years head mistress of the Wanganui Girls’ (now Queen’s Park) School; is at present on a short visit to Wanganui, and.'is staying at the Parkville Hotel. Miss Blyth, since her retirement-from active teaching seven years dgo, has.'* been ya .resident, of Wellington, but * makes periodical visits to Wanganui; the wonderful growth of which is, she says, very striking. Her Wanganui friends, whose. number is legion;’will be. glad to hear that Miss. Bly th'is in excellent health,' and ish-still the. same bright, active personality that will .be' remembered so well by people-of. this to>Vn.
