CRICKET. ®OTAGO v. SOUTHLAND. (Per United Press Association.) ; IN VE RCA KG ILL, March. 5. The rep. cricket match between Otago and Southland was commenced to-day in good weather and on a difficult wicket. Southland batted first,, and made Ibb (Loig .42, D. Hamilton kB, and Av Hamilton 22). Scidoberg and’ Huntly shared the bowling honours. Otago have lost scVcii wickets ’ for C 6 (Tuckwell 17). Doig and Herbert were very successful in the fowling. . The .match was drawn, Otago carried their first innings’ score to 117, Condliffc and McLaughlau putting on 47 for the last wicket. Southland-declared their second innings closed at 151 for six wickets (Dr. Hamilton 57, Hamilton 31, Pool not out 26). This left Otago 201 to got m au hour and a half. When time was called three wickets had fallen for 94 (Brydon 32, Tuckwell not out 30). HAWKE CUP SEMI-FINAL. WANGANUI v. SOUTH AUCKLAND. TO BE PLAYED ON 17th AND 18th - MARCH. ' * ' ■ . TTie Wanganui Cricket Association Management Committee met last evening to discuss matters appertaining to the llawe Cup. It was decided to send a team to Hamilton to play South Auckland for the semi-final of the Cup on Monday and Tuesday week, 17th and 18th inst. The Wanganui representatives will leave per train at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday, the loth inst., and will return to 'Wanganui on tiio following Wednesday at 3 p.m. The team will be chosen on Monday. It is expected that a fairly strong team will be sent. THURSDAY COMPETITION. For some unaccountable reason no matches were played yesterday . in the Thursday competition.. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW. 'Flic following will represent St. PouFs seniors in their match with College A, on the College ground, at 2 o’clock to-morrow afternoon:—Murchic, Burrett, Holland, London, Martin, Campbell, Bowkett, Cade, Brown, Robins, Black. St. Paul’s juniors to play College, on College ground at 2 p.m. on Saturday; Cooper, Burtinshaw, Clark, Dailey, Ellis, Francis, Stevenson, Thompson, Mascmann, Gould, Shaw, and Larking.
