Mr Mahin did not, Mr Dnthie said, adequately represent the true position. New Zealand started only twenty years ago, a savage country, and> it was now well loaded, had railways from end to cud,-high' class shipping accommodation, and all the' requirements of a civilised community. Ho showed that the indebtedness of the Dominion was set off by valuable assets,_ and the money lent was well secured aiid was being employed in genuine development of the country.
