There is strong competition at the wool sales in nil section;; <>f erossbreds, but prices arc occasionally in sellers' favour. LONDON WOOL MARKETS. Dalgcty and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cablegram from their London office, wider date of the 19th instant: Wool market tirm. Prices for greasy wools are practically on a par with closing rates last series. Wellington, 2(lth July, 1911. N.Z.L. AND M.A. COS RETORT. FEILDING, July 21. The N.Z. Lop,n and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report for the week ending 21st July, as follows: At Feilding on Friday we had a failentry of sheep, aud a small entry of cattle. Prices for sheep were especially good. Hoggets were steady. We effected a total clearance of our sheep. A nice line of 100 Romncy ewes in iamb sold in conjunction with Messrs Gorton and Son, on account of Mr. John Hensou, made 20s. We quote as follows:—Cull lambs 5s ewes in lamb to Romney rams 8s 6d, ditto in lamb to E.L. rains 12s (3d, mixed hoggets 9s 3d. woolly hoggets 10s 3d. fat lamKs lis to lis Id, ewe lambs to lis 6d. ewes in lamb to 20s, store cov.j £'■) 7s. heifers £4. springing cows to £~. Wc also disposed privately before the sale of a line of about 2000 hoggets at, lis Cd to an outside buyer.

At Apiti on Tuesday we hnd a heavy yarding of .sheep, and a wood yarding of rattle. Bidding at auction was brisk. With the except ion of one or two pens, «e disposed of almost all ouv entrv at prices in favour of vendors. We quote as follows:—Cull eweo iu lamb 2s 3d, 2s lid, to 4s fid, good ewes in lamb to 12s, two-tooth wethers lis. store wethers 9s Id, cull lambs 5s to .>s fid, small mixed lambs 6s, wether lambs 9s and 9s 3d. smaller ditto. 8s 3d. ewe lambs 8s up tr> 13s 9d, forward empty ew;s l(!s. fat ewes up to 13s, rams 24s fid, verniers 18s to 21s (id, cull ditto (5-: 6d. two-year heifers in calf £2 18s, good mixed weaners 30s. forward bullocks. .£3 Is. springing cows to £7 os.
