QUEENSLAND BUCAR DISPUTE. Waterside Workers In Sympathy. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 21. A meeting of the Council of the Waterside Workers' Federation, Hon. Win. Hughes, Federal Attorney-General, presiding, confirmed the decision of the Executive not to handle non-Uniou sugar, during the currency of the Queensland dispute. Mr Hughes afterwards declared that the workers would not strike but were merely refusing to handle certain goods. FEDERATION OF COALMINERS.

Received July 22, 8.45 a.m. SYDNEY, July 22. The Miners' Delegate Board has agreed to amalgamation with the Colliery Employees' Unions, the idea being to secure the general federation of the coalminers i;» the Commonwealth.

THE LITHCOW STRIKE. SYDNEY, July 22. Mr Hoskins who asked the Hon. G. S. Beeby to act as mediator in the Lithgow strike, has accepted Mr Beeby's suggestion to re-instate all men on the conditions existing at the time of the suspension of work, pending arbitration on the claim for increased pay, the men to start on Monday morning. ANOTHER STRIKE. SYDNEY, July 22. The employees of the Electrolytic Company at Port Keobla have struck as a mateat against tha removal of an empleyce. Three hundred have been rendered idle. STRIKERS FINED.

Statement by the Premier.

Eeceived July 22, 10.20 a.m. BRISBANE, July 22. Two strikers were fined for assaulting a free lacbourcr. : ■*s The whole of the hands at the MiHaqnin refinery havn left work. Work is proceeding in a number of centres with the assistance of farmers, clerks, and other permanent hands. At the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting the Premier stated that tho strike had reached a stage for serious consideration, but not warranting intervention.
